Ingredients:

For the Outer Covering:

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon ghee (clarified butter)

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup GOODB honey
  • A pinch of cardamom powder
  • Chopped nuts (cashews, almonds) for garnish

Instructions:

Making the Outer Covering:

1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil, adding a pinch of salt and ghee.

2. Lower the heat and gradually add the rice flour, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

3. Cook the mixture until it forms a dough-like consistency. Remove it from the heat and let it cool.

Making the Filling:

1. In a separate pan, combine grated coconut and GOODB honey.

2. Cook on low heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.

3. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.

Assembling the Modaks:

1. Take a small portion of the rice flour dough and flatten it in your palm to form a small disc.

2. Place a spoonful of the honey-coconut filling in the center.

3. Carefully fold the edges of the rice flour disc to cover the filling, forming a modak shape. You can use a little water to seal the edges if needed.

4. Garnish the modak with chopped nuts.

Offering to Lord Ganesha:

1. Prepare a steamer and steam the modaks for about 10-12 minutes until they become slightly translucent.

2. Allow them to cool before offering them to Lord Ganesha or enjoying them as a sweet treat.

With each bite of these Honey Modaks, you'll experience the delightful blend of tradition and modernity. GOODB's honey adds a unique sweetness that enhances the flavors and makes this offering even more special. As you celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, let these homemade modaks symbolize your devotion to Lord Ganesha and your commitment to pure and organic goodness, the very essence of GOODB. May your festivities be filled with joy, love, and the sweet blessings of the Ganesha.
